What is JAMB CAPS?

JAMB CAPS is an online system developed by JAMB to manage the admission process into Nigerian universities. It allows candidates to:

  • Check their admission status
  • Accept or reject an admission offer
  • Print their official admission letter

Once you’ve taken the JAMB exam, this is where you’ll go to monitor your admission status and make decisions regarding any offers you may receive.

How to Log Into the JAMB CAPS Portal

Before you can check your admission status, you need to log in to the JAMB e-Facility portal. Here’s how:

  1. Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal:
Head over to the official JAMB e-Facility portal by visiting https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/Login.
  2. Enter Your Login Details:
To log in, you’ll need to provide your registered email address and password. If you don’t have an account yet, simply click on “Create an Account” to get started.
  3. Navigate to CAPS:
After logging in, look for the option that says “Check Admission Status.” Once you click on it, you’ll be directed to the JAMB CAPS platform where you can begin checking your admission status.

How to Check Your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

Once you’re in the JAMB CAPS system, checking your admission status is straightforward:

  1. Select Your Exam Year:
Choose the year you took your JAMB exam (e.g., 2025).
  2. Enter Your JAMB Registration Number:
Enter the JAMB registration number you used for your exams.
  3. Check Your Admission Status:
Click on “Check Admission Status” to view the details. You’ll either see:

    • “CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED PROVISIONAL ADMISSION” – This means you’ve been offered a spot in a university.
    • “ADMISSION IN PROGRESS” – This means your admission is still being processed, so check back later.
    • “NOT ADMITTED” – No admission has been offered to you at the moment. Keep checking for updates.

What to Do After Checking Your Admission Status

If you’ve been offered admission, you’ll need to accept it on the JAMB CAPS portal. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Access CAPS:
After checking your admission status, click on “Access My CAPS.”
  2. Select “Admission Status”:
In CAPS, click on “Admission Status” to view the details of the offer you’ve received.
  3. Accept or Reject the Offer:
If you’ve been offered admission, you’ll see two options: “Accept” or “Reject.”

    • If you are happy with the university offer, click “Accept.”
    • If you wish to decline the offer (for instance, if you prefer another university), click “Reject.”

How to Print Your Admission Letter

Once you’ve accepted your admission offer, you can print your official admission letter. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Your JAMB Profile:
After accepting your admission, go back to your JAMB portal dashboard.
  2. Click on “Print Admission Letter”:
Find the “Print Admission Letter” option on your dashboard.
  3. Validate and Print:
Select your exam year, then click on “Validate Admission” and continue to print your admission letter. You may need to make a payment to validate your admission and print your letter.
  4. Download and Print:
Once everything is processed, you’ll be able to download and print your admission letter. This document is important for your registration in the university.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • O’Level Results:
Ensure that your O’Level results are correctly uploaded on the JAMB portal. If your result is still marked as “Awaiting Result,” your admission won’t be processed. So, be sure to upload your results as soon as possible.
  • Transfer Approval:
Sometimes, candidates may be recommended for transfer to a different program. If this happens, check the “Transfer Approval” section in CAPS, and make sure to either accept or reject the transfer.
  • Regular Monitoring:
Admission statuses can change, so it’s a good idea to check your CAPS portal regularly to stay updated.
